Martin Scott Wilson
aka: Sanford
Martin Scott Wilson, also known as Sanford, owns a tent and sleeping bag and enjoys curling up beneath the stars.
He has spent the last five years wandering as far away from Florida as possible and becoming acquainted with the outdoors.
His travels have taken him as far as the Czech Republic, where he spent a winter teaching English and beginning to stare into puddles—discovering their photographic mysteries.
After significant explorations of Grand Teton and Glacier National Parks, his love of hiking only deepened upon arriving in Big Sky Montana, where he was seized by the rugged beauty of the Madison Mountains and the intensity of peak-bagging.
In 2006, he was given the trail-name “Sanford” by a guy named Redneck while thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail—a 2,175 mile journey from Georgia to Maine that took him six months and three days to complete. Since then, Sanford has become sort of an A.T. junkie and often finds himself wandering along its meandering path.
